PDF Micro Suite is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect:

• Your PDF documents or any file contents
• Personal information or contact details
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Device identifiers or fingerprints
• Location data
• Browsing history or app usage patterns

There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no tracking. You download the app and use it — that's it.

2. Local Processing

All PDF operations are performed entirely on your Mac:

• PDF Operations — Merge, split, rotate, crop, extract, reorder, delete, and all other PDF manipulations happen locally using macOS native frameworks (PDFKit and CoreGraphics).
• Voice Input — Speech-to-text transcription is processed on-device using Apple's built-in speech recognition. Your voice never leaves your Mac.
• OCR — Text recognition from scanned documents uses macOS Vision framework locally.
• File Storage — All files remain on your Mac. We don't upload anything to any server.

3. AI Features (Optional)

PDF Micro Suite offers optional AI-powered features for document Q&A. Here's how they work:

Cloud AI Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter)

If you choose to use cloud AI providers:

• You provide your own API keys — we never see or store them
• API keys are stored securely in your Mac's Keychain
• When you ask a question, the text content of relevant pages is sent to your chosen AI provider
• The AI provider's privacy policy applies to that data
• We recommend reviewing your provider's data handling policies

Local AI (Ollama)

For complete privacy, you can use Ollama:

• AI models run entirely on your Mac
• No internet connection required
• No data is transmitted anywhere
• This is the recommended option for sensitive documents

4. Third-Party Services

PDF Micro Suite does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external connections are:

• Mac App Store — For app distribution and updates (Apple's privacy policy applies)
• AI Providers — Only if you explicitly configure and use cloud AI features with your own API keys

5. Data Security

We implement security best practices:

• API keys are stored in macOS Keychain (encrypted, system-protected storage)
• No network connections for core functionality
• App is sandboxed per macOS security requirements
• No telemetry or crash reporting that includes document content

6. Children's Privacy

PDF Micro Suite does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no age-restricted content and is suitable for all ages.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
